These HORSES are property of the state of Texas. I went and got permission to photograph them. I use these images as reference in my own artwork. Please feel free to use these photos. These horses work long hard hours, and they are such kind an beautiful creatures. They all are prison horses the TDC uses for their guards to ride, or to raise in the TDC husbandry program. They are all very gentle, and have much personality. Each and every one.So free to use these. :)
NOTE:
1. YOU CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT GO AND PHOTOGRAPH ANY HORSE THAT IS IN OR NEAR A PRISON. YOUR CAMERA WILL BE TAKEN, AND IT IS FOR THE SAFETY OF YOURSELF AND THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS, THAT YOU RESPECT THEIR RULES. I HAVE GOTTEN PERMISSION FROM THE WARDEN TO PHOTOGRAPH THESE HORSES. BUT.... I HAD TO HAVE A TDC GUARD ESCORT ME. These HORSES are property of the state of Texas. I went and got permission to photograph them. I use these images as reference in my own artwork. Please feel free to use these photos. These horses work long hard hours, and they are such kind an beautiful creatures. They all are prison horses the TDC uses for their guards to ride, or to raise in the TDC husbandry program. I would like to say that you have some pretty stock up here!
i am working on editing some of these photos. and posting some more of the horses. thank you. for taking a look.
Just wanted to say as the creator to this account.....pardon my caps lock, and grammar when i get a chance i will edit this, i my journal section. i thank you all kindly if you took time to view these photos, and kindly and respectfully appreciate any advice. thank you sincerely.

Just a note about these photos...
i had to get permission from the TDC prison system to take these photos. I dedicated my whole senior portfolio to honoring and respecting these horses. i lived right by a pasture, that the mares stayed in. I had to have a guard escort me in every one of these photos.
i do agree barbwire is sick. i am sorry if any of the photo upsets anyone.
There are a few horse photos.... in particular that have bardwire in them.....!
i actually visited these horse every day for a semester of undergraduate school to study and photograph these horse.... as a fellow animal lover to you i am sorry barbd wire is in some of these photos. i met a few of the gaurds how are the caretakers of a few of the pastures. and they trully love these animals...esp. the bond they had because like a (K-9 dog is to a police officer) these horse are their partners they workd with every day. These horses, and guards worked together everyday,.
I took these photos to honor these hard working horses. they are so kind and beautiful. I got to know a few of them very well.
I hated having a prison guard with me. but it was for my own safety and also, these horses are Texas state property i was told.
and i would have had my camera confiscated or worse get a into a situation if i did't respect the TDC prisons laws.
in short. i wanted to show these horses i highly respect and love.
pardon the barbed wire. i tried to photograph most of these horses when i was actually in the pasture.
